It means that literature contains in its various artistic dimensions patterns of patriotic conduct and demeanour. It is a mirror reflecting changes in understanding this concept. It is also a space in which particular forms of national and personal patriotism are being born. These are local, political, constitutional, economic, martial and day-to-day one. In the second part of the article the output of Jerzy Stefan Stawiński, the Polish scriptwriter and filmmaker, is interpreted.
