Drug abuse is a worldwide problem. There are many causes of drug addiction and overcoming it is very difficult. It requires a lot of effort primarily from the addicted one, and support, patience and understanding from the family and people participating in the therapy. Many social welfare, non-government, health care institutions are involved in helping the addicts and their families, and in the development of drug abuse prevention programs.
