A family menace can be connected to social issues – external dangers, and family issues – internal dangers. One of the external threats to a family and its members are religious sects (cult groups). The second part of the article discusses the issue of cult groups and their destructive influence on a family. The membership in such groups leads to loosening of family bounds, destroys communication between the members, destroys the integrity of a family, and destroys motivation for acting for own family environment. The third part are prophylactic and religious suggestions directed towards families. The prophylactic activities are connected to gaining skills in interpersonal relations and these are also informational and educational actions aimed on educational environment such as: parents, teachers, social workers.
