This inclines one to reflect on the issue of peace. Family cannot be excluded from the effort directed at the process of building it. The article tackles the problem of education in the family, the family that is called by John Paul II the first school of peace. The starting point of the article is analysis of the term “peace” on the basis of the teaching by the Contemporary Church. Next, the role of the parents in educating for peace is shown, as well as the possibilities of involving the very children in the process. Finally, the formation for peace in the institutions supporting the family, mainly in the school and the Church, is presented.plAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Polandhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/pl/pokójrodzinarodzicedzieciwychowanieszkołyszkoła pokojuteologiateologia pastoralnapeacefamilyparentschildrenupbringingedukacjaeducationschoolsschool of peacetheologypastoral theologyRodzina pierwszą szkołą pokojuFamily as the First School of PeaceArticle
