Introduced by ICD-10 diagnostic category trans and spirit possession significantly emphasizes the existence of such a split. In the article the author characters applied diagnostic criteria of spirit possession, presents psychopathologic characteristics of the phenomenon based on literature data and attempts to discuss on possible relations between ecclesiastics and psychotherapists.
