Hence, she obligated pastors to prepare them for the sacrament of matrimony. Given that matrimony is a major event in the lives of the betrothed and of the whole community of the faithful, the Church felt obliged to provide young people with pastoral help in preparing for their marriage. No wonder the Code of Canon Law of 1917 binds pastors to take care about prudently instructing the faithful on the sacrament of matrimony and impediments thereto. This subject was also reflected in the resolutions of the First Synod of the Diocese of Tarnów. The documents contain dispositions regarding the examination of the contracting parties, the investigation about the free status, the marriage banns and the removal of impediments to marriage. After these norms have been diligently observed, the pastor can proceed to assist at the marriage in a valid and licit way.polCC-BY-ND - Uznanie autorstwa - Bez utworów zależnychmałżeństwoprzeszkody małżeńskiezapowiedzi przedmałżeńskiedyspensaprawo kanoniczneprzygotowanie do małżeństwadokumenty synodalnesynodyI Synod Diecezji Tarnowskiejdiecezja tarnowskadokumenty I Synodu Diecezji Tarnowskiejmarriageimpediments to marriagemarriage bannspremarital announcementsdispensationcanon lawpreparation to marriagesynodal documentssynods1st Synod of the Tarnów Diocesediocese of Tarnówdocuments of the 1st Synod of the Tarnów DiocesePrzygotowanie do małżeństwa w świetle dokumentów Pierwszego Synodu Diecezji TarnowskiejPreparation for Marriage in the Light of the Documents of the First Synod of the Diocese of TarnówArticle
