Brother Roger was put to death on August 16th, 2005, while praying in the Reconciliation Church. Author presents the story of his life: birth in the Swiss-French family, the childhood and theological studies. The attention is drawn to the foundation of the ecumenical community in Taizé which developed to the center of prayer for youth of the whole world. Author presents in a very interesting way the contacts of Br. Roger with several Popes. The last part of the article describes the circumstances of Br.
