This period has been divided into three periods, when at the helm of the school stood fi rst its founder Rev. prof. S. Łach (1956–1976), then the next two directors of the Institute (Fr H. Langkammer OFM and Rev. J. Kudasiewicz, years 1976–1988), and fi nally the creator of the modern Institute of Biblical Studies, Rev. prof. R. Rubinkiewicz SDB. The article ends with a short characteristics of their activity.
