The article consists of two parts: an analysis that identifies the scope of the editors’ interference in the biblical texts and a synthesis which tries to reconstruct the editorial process. The second part of the investigation is based on the results of the previous part.Artykuł ukazuje prehistorię tekstu biblijnego 2 Krl 21, 1-18, który przedstawia życie i ocenę króla Manassesa. Niniejszy tekst składa się z dwóch części: analizy, za pomocą której odkrywa się w tekście obszary ingerencji redaktorów, oraz syntezy, która jest próbą rekonstrukcji procesu redakcyjnego.
