One of the reasons for declaration of nullity of marriage is coercion or fear. Despite the fact that in recent years we have witnessed the increase of personal freedom of a human being, the church courts are still examining the cases of nullity of marriage on these grounds. The church court in Tarnów is not an exception. The topic of the article is the analysis of Diocesan Court judgments in Tarnów in the years 1983-2010 referring to the issue of constraint and fear. The problem has been explained in three parts. Firstly, the issue concerning forcing the consent to the catholic marriage has been presented. What has been described in the next part of the analysis is the problem of constraint and fear in diocesan court in Tarnów.
