Is it possible to bridge a gulf what between a prisoner in custody those people who enjoy freedom? Are they alike? Or are they so very much different that social rehabilitation is ineffective? There is a whole array of questions and answers. Most opinions hold it, that social rehabilitation is not possible. The article’s author suggests that a positive response to these questions will only be possible when we reach for the concept of man and discover the truth that inmates and people outside corrective institutions are exactly the same man. Thus our elementary task is to discover the internal truth about the excluded as well as to help the excluded discover the same truth. This discovery is attained through learning, i.e. education.Podstawowym zagadnieniem w resocjalizacji jest jej skuteczność. Czy możliwa jest likwidacja przepaści, jaka dzieli osadzonego w areszcie człowieka od człowieka cieszącego się wolnością? Czy jeden i drugi są do siebie podobni, czy aż na tyle różni, że resocjalizacja jest niemożliwa? Pytań jest bardzo wiele, podobnie i odpowiedzi. Większość z nich skłania się ku temu, iż resocjalizacja nie jest możliwa. Autor artykułu sugeruje, iż pozytywna odpowiedź będzie możliwa tylko wtedy, kiedy sięgniemy do koncepcji człowieka i odkryjemy prawdę, iż osadzony i wolny to taki sam człowiek. Podstawowe więc zadanie to odkryć w sobie prawdę o wykluczonych i pomóc odkryć tę samą prawdę im o sobie samych.
