Much speculation on the sources of this separation fails to account for it. Neither Duhem’s examination of physical theory nor his Catholicism, when the Church was encouraging the study of scholasticism, can provide a good explanation of his position. It turns out that despite the emphasis on the separation Duhem has developed his own metaphysics on the ground of the examination of physical theory. It is also interesting to notice that his metaphysics find its complementary part in religion.plAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Polandhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/pl/Pierre Duhemfizykanauki ścisłemetafizykaproblem demarkacjikoncepcja naturalnej klasyfikacjiwiaranaukakryzys intelektualnyreligiaphysicssciencemetaphysicsproblem of demarcationconcept of natural classificationfaithstudyintellectual crisisreligiondemarkacjademarcationZagadnienie demarkacji fizyki i metafizyki w świetle koncepcji naturalnej klasyfikacji u Pierre DuhemaThe Demarcation Between Physics and Metaphysics in the Light of the Conception of Natural Classification in Pierre DuhemArticle
