The article describes the life of Saint Cecile and provides a brief history of her cult. Presentation of songs in honour of this Patron of music constitutes an essential part of the study. The author begins with an analysis of their melodic aspects focusing, among others, on the kinds of melodies and intervallic scales. The article discusses also rhythmicity and the lyrics of the presented works .
