It is essential that the lay public should be involved in political, economic and cultural life. This is the basic duty of the faithful and nothing can excuse their absence from social life. Considering the helplessness that overwhelms many catholics today the Holy Father reminds us that the evangelization logic is not purely human logic. The following words from the Gospel confirm this: “Master, [...] we worked hard all night long and caught nothing. But if you say so, I will let down the nets.” (Lk 5, 5-6). “Let your nets down and fish,” repeats the words of Jesus Christ the Successor of Peter. Are we entitled not to let them down because of the lack of faith in the world today?plAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Polandhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/pl/laikatświeccyobowiązkisobór watykański IIwspólnotaspołeczeństwoKościółpolitykagospodarkakulturalaitydutiesVatican IISecond Vatican CouncilcouncilcommunitysocietyChurchlaypeoplepoliticseconomyculturesobórZadania świeckich w porządku doczesnymThe tasks of the laity in the worldArticle
