The author surveys the modern currents in the catholic biblical studies paying a special attention to biblical hermeneutics and biblical theology both regarded as leading trends of the biblical science. In regard to the biblical hermeneutics, giving the critical and historical method its proper place, the author ponders on the question what is meant to-day by „intelliging“ the holy writ or by „the meaning“ of the inspired writer’s words. Then by mean of the comparative analysis of typical sense and that of the „sensus plenior“ one, he discusses the problem whether typical sense can be recognised as a criterion in the field of biblical heuristic. Speaking of the biblical theology of the New Testament the author outlines both its origin and historical evolution. Then the subject matter, essence and definition of the New Testament biblical theology is determined in general by the author; and recent demands on the biblical studies have been particularly enumerated by him. At the end of this part the author traces fash and lines of development of the biblical theology of the New Testament. According to the author’s view those should have the following stages: 1) A starting point of reserches for up-to-date biblical theology should be to establish a philological and historical exegesis. This work must be governed by its own principles independent of any philosophical or theological influence. As a matter of fact it should not differ from a philological and historical interpretation of literatury – works of Antiquity. 2) The second step takes place when the results of such an exegesis are grasped in the light of faith (sub lumine fidei) and this is done in order to comprehend in a fuller and more perfect degree the Mystery revealed to us by God in historical evolution of His Redemptive Work. 3) The last step will be to work out within a philosophical system such a synthesis which will enable us to distinguish between, the everlasting value of the Holy Scripture and biblical elements connected with time, circumstances, civilisation and culture.plCC-BY - Uznanie autorstwaBibliaPismo ŚwięteStary TestamentNowy Testamentbiblistykaegzegezaegzegeza biblijnateologiateologia biblijnabiblistyka katolickabiblistyka niekatolickahermeneutyka biblijnahermeneutykametoda historyczno-krytycznaegzegeci biblijnikrytyka tekstufilologiafilologia biblijnaegzegeza krytycznaegzegeza filologiczno-historycznaegzegeza filologicznaegzegeza historycznaegzegeza patrystycznaegzegeza współczesnaprawdaprawda historycznadogmatykaBibleOld TestamentNew Testamentbiblical studiesexegesisbiblical exegesistheologybiblical theologyCatholic biblical studiesnon-Catholic biblical studiesbiblical hermeneuticshermeneuticshistorical-critical methodbiblical exegetestextual criticismphilologybiblical philologycritical exegesisphilological-historical exegesisphilological exegesishistorical exegesispatristic exegesiscontemporary exegesistruthhistorical truthdogmaticsKierunki i postulaty współczesnej biblistyki katolickiejArticle
