Decyzja Soboru nie tylko wpłynęła na refleksję trynitologiczną, ale przyczyniła się do postępu całej późniejszej pracy teologicznej. Ponieważ wyznanie nicejskie stanowi do dziś centrum wiary chrześcijańskiej, nie mogło nie mieć decydującego wpływu na duchowość chrześcijańską.
