Numerous people beatified and canonized by Pope John Paul II in the course of his long pontificate are the best proof of topicality of the problem of saints as personal models and of the need of such people in our times. In the next part of the article the relation between the cult of saints and the worship of God, and next the connection between the cult and Christ’s Paschal mystery are discussed. We can also find the answer to three important questions here, namely, Why are saints necessary? Should saints’ pictures be worshipped? Where can we meet saints, while still being on earth?plAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Polandhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/pl/kultświęcikatechezaobrazykult świętychsobórsobór watykański IIteologiaMisterium Paschalnekult obrazówcultsaintscatechesispaintingscult of saintscouncilSecond Vatican CouncilVatican IItheologyPaschal Mysterycult of imagesKult świętych w katechezieThe Cult of Saints in CatechesisArticle
