The Special Theory of Relativity claims that there is no flow of time, that time is “frozen” and both the future and the past exist in the same way as the present. The inevitable consequence of this thesis is determinism, which in turn is rejected by both science (the General Relativity and the Quantum Mechanics) and common sense because it denies free will. Common sense is a source of a strong conviction that time flows, and therefore it produces an argument against the “block theory of time” In the light of the present state of science the discussion between these two opposite theses does not lead to definite answer.plAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Polandhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/pl/upływ czasufizykadylatacja czasublokowa teoria czasufizjologiadeterminizmzłudzenieczasnauki ścisłepassage of timephysicstime dilatationblock theory of timephysiologydeterminismillusiontimescienceCzy upływ czasu jest złudzeniem? Is the Flow of Time an Illussion?Article
