In the past, the role of women was limited to the narrow scope of household environment. The first women movements began in the USA in the late 18th century. In the late 50-ties, the European Community was created and the Treaties of Rome were signed. In the 70-ties participation of women in the labour market increased and, consequently, women were more often exposed to symptoms of discrimination. In Poland, the first women movements did not appear before the 30ties. Polish access to the structures of the European Union in 2004 entailed a rapid change in the equality policy.polCC-BY-ND - Uznanie autorstwa - Bez utworów zależnychrównośćrówność płcirównouprawnienie kobiet i mężczyzndyskryminacjakobietamężczyznarównouprawnieniepłećhistoriaspołeczeństwożycie społeczneprawohistoryczne aspekty równości płcispołeczne aspekty równości płciprawne aspekty równości płcisocjologiasytuacja kobiet w Polscerównouprawnienie kobietsytuacja kobiet na świecieteoria równościequalitygender equalityequality between women and mendiscriminationwomanmangenderhistorysocietysocial lifelawhistorical aspects of gender equalitysocial aspects of gender equalitylegal aspects of gender equalitysociologysituation of women in Polandequality of womensituation of women in the worldtheory of equalityRówność płci.
