The issue of the origins of the idea itself and the life and work of its creator, Mikhail Koyalovich, were of significant importance in Valeriy Cherepitsa’s views. In the context of “West Russianism” Cherepitsa investigated also other problems connected with the history of Belarus, being not indifferent, however, to the process of reconstruction of the “West Russianism” ideology into “Western Neo- Russianism”.Artykuł ukazuje analizę poglądów dotyczących idei „zachodniorusizmu” znanego białoruskiego historyka, Walerija Czerepicy. W poglądach tych poważne znaczenie zyskała kwestia genezy samej idei oraz życia i działalności jej twórcy – Michaiła Kojałowicza.
