Nowiński, Janusz2026-05-262026-05-262022Seminare, 2022, Tom 43, nr 1, s. 91-119.1232-8766https://theo-logos.pl/handle/123456789/44518Important events in the medieval history of the Cistercian Abbey at Ląd: its refoundation in 1193, support of the policy of King Casimir the Great in Greater Poland in the fifties, and the expansion of the claustrum in the sixties of the 14th century, were documented with outstanding works of art funded by the Abbey benefactors. These works of art include: a chalice (not preserved) and a paten from the foundation of Prince Mieszko III (Fig. 1-4); Oratory of St. James the Apostle with a unique polychrome from the foundation of Wierzbięta from Palowice (Fig. 6-12); a silver and gilded chalice richly decorated with enamel ‒ a gift of King Casimir the Great (Fig. 14); and a staurotec-ostulatory probably from the foundation of Archbishop Jarosław Bogoria Skotnicki (Fig. 15). The article presents these works in the light of the latest research related to them and provides the author’s new interpretations and attribution hypotheses.Ważne wydarzenia w średniowiecznej historii cysterskiego opactwa w Lądzie: jego refundacja w 1193 r., poparcie polityki króla Kazimierza Wielkiego w Wielkopolsce w latach 50. i rozbudowa claustrum w latach 60. XIV w., zostały udokumentowane wybitnymi dziełami sztuki fundowanymi przez dobrodziejów opactwa. Tymi dziełami są: kielich (niezachowany) i patena z fundacji księcia Mieszka III (il. 1-4); Oratorium św. Jakuba Apostoła z unikatową polichromią fundacji Wierzbięty z Palowic (il. 6-12); srebrny i złocony kielich bogato dekorowany emalią – dar króla Kazimierza Wielkiego (il. 14) oraz stauroteka-pacyfikał zapewne fundacji abpa Jarosława Bogorii Skotnickiego (il. 15).
