In this paper, we deal with the mystery of suffering from a philosophical and biblical point of view. We pay special attention to the thought message of P. Strauss, a Slovak doctor and convert, according to which pain is a part of the concept of life. The second part presents the practical-pastoral aspects of care for the sick and suffering. The Christian understanding of this care is about the realization of Christ’s power and love. At the same time, it is important to maintain sensitivity to the inner attitudes of the suffering person, his value equipment and religious beliefs.otherCC-BY-NC-ND - Uznanie autorstwa - Użycie niekomercyjne - Bez utworów zależnychdiseaseillnesshealingBiblepastoral carechorobaleczenieopieka duszpasterskaduszpasterstwoministryduszpasterstwo chorychpastoral care of the sickBibliaPismo Świętechorzysickliečbechorýpastoračná starostlivosť o chorýchcierpieniesufferingutrpenieSłowacjaSlovakiaSlovenskoIdeové a praktické aspekty starostlivosti o chorýchIdeological and Practical Aspects of Care for the SickArticle
