In the first part of the article, we present the notion of spirituality. We direct the attention to the fact that what is the essence of spirituality is transcendence understood as going beyond the present experience of ‘the self The transcendence can appear within the range of a person (self-accomplishment, self-improvement, personal development) as well as beyond a person (in the direction of the Highest Being, the Absolute, the Universe). In the second part of the article, we present the concept of spiritual dimension proposed by V.E. Frankel. According to V.E. Frankel, the spiritual dimension is the dimension in which specifically human phenomena occur, such as: the source of intellectual cognition, liberty, responsibility, conscience, love, which are the spiritual acts in which a human being rises above the bodily and psychological plane to the strictly spiritual cognition. We presented the basic features of the spiritual dimension, such as: the openness and self-accomplishment of a human being and the aspirations of a human being, amongst which V.E. Frankel includes: the aspiration to accomplish the sense, the aspiration to meet another human being, the aspiration towards a community and the aspiration towards God – the Supersense.plAttribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Polandhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/pl/duchowośćpsychologiaduchowość z punktu widzenia psychologiipojęcie duchowości w psychologiipojęcie duchowościanaliza egzystencjalnaspiritualitypsychologyspirituality from the psychological point of viewconcept of spirituality in psychologyconcept of spiritualityexistential analysisViktor Emil Franklanaliza egzystencjalna Viktora Franklakoncepcja duchowości w analizie egzystencjalnej Viktora FranklaViktor Frankl's existential analysisconcept of spirituality in Viktor Frankl's existential analysisDuchowość z punktu widzenia psychologiiSpirituality from the point of view of psychologyArticle
