However, its proper understanding and use is important in the perspective of establishing the right social order. Nevertheless, such control cannot restrict the functioning of entities in social life to the utmost degree possible, or it will limit and inhibit rather than properly stimulate and guide development. Social relationships must be based on trust enhanced by appropriate use of control instruments. Control in food industry is of particular importance here as food production directly affects the life and health of consumers. In Poland, there are many institutions involved in official food control whose actions, however, are not fully coordinated and require improvement.
