It can be said that in the period of these changes it lost some of its importance. However, in the post-industrial age it seems to regain its significance, albeit in an aspect that is a little different from what it was in the past. The changes in the economic function of the family were the foundations of the changes occurring both in the very structure of the family and in the roles played by its particular members. They largely contributed to emancipation of the marital bond within the family. This fact is important when considering the question of preventing dysfunction of this community in the sphere of economics. Forming the marital bond on the foundations of personal, mutual giving oneself to the other, gives the spouses a certain distance to the material and determining relations in the world of market economy, facilitates the struggle for finding or keeping the job, makes it easier to fight various threats to marriage, e.g. the ones caused by the separation resulting from looking for a job abroad. First of all, however, at least to a certain degree, it makes the married couple secure against one of the greatest threats, that is transferring the relations from the world of economy to marriage and the family bond.plAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Polandhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/pl/funkcja ekonomiczna rodzinywięź małżeńskaosobowe obdarowanierodzinamałżeństwofunkcje rodzinyfamily’s economic functionmarital bondpersonal giving oneselffamilymarriagefunctions of familyWpływ przemian ekonomicznej funkcji rodziny na więź małżeńskąThe Impact of the Changes in the Economic Function of the Family on the Marital BondArticle
