D., was called from Przemyśl to take up a post at the University of Lvov and held the chair of Christian philosophy there for twenty years (1909-1929). He ascended all the rungs of a university career. He was delegate of the Faculty of Theology to the Senate, then vice-dean and dean of the Faculty, and finally vice-rector and rector of the University. He left a lasting mark in many areas of university life. He strove to raise the standards of Christian philosophy teaching within the study of theological disciplines; he succeeded in separating the chair of philosophy from fundamental theology, broadening the curriculum and establishing a philosophical seminar. He was equally concerned about the development of the theological disciplines in reborn Poland, popularizing them in talks and university lectures open to the general public. From his postion in the university chair he promoted neo-scholastic philosophy through his lectures and scholarly publications in metaphysics, theodicy, psychology and cosmology. Apart from their intellectual merits, his works are also notable for his successful attempts to create a Polish philosophical terminology. Some of his works functioned for many years as pioneering aids in the education of clergy and lay intelligentsia.plAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Polandhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/pl/Kazimierz Waisprofesorowieprofessorsteologowieteolodzytheologiansdziałalność dydaktycznateaching activitiesdziałalność naukowaresearch activitiesUniwersytet LwowskiUniversity of LvivhistoriahistoryDziałalność dydaktyczno-naukowa i organizacyjna ks. prof.
