There have already been attempts at administering of such Holy Orders as well as disputes on the subject. The Catholic Church has expressed its position clearly against such Holy Orders. Nevertheless, discussions as well as attempts at administering the Holy Orders to women have not ceased. Therefore, at the Pope’s request, the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith developed declaration Inter Insignioreson the Question of Admission of Women to the Ministerial Priesthood, where the unchanged position of the Catholic Church was repeated. After the declaration was published, there were still voices in the case. Another step was signing of the Apostolic Letter Ordinatio Sacerdotalis by John Paul II in 1994 and issuing of the General Decree in 2007 as well as the Norms de Gravioribus Delictis in 2010. The above mentioned documents confirm the negative attitude of the Catholic Church concerning the issue of administering the Holy Orders to women. The article discusses the problem of women’s ordinance, which already appeared in distant history.
