The stated problem is solved by presenting first the Church’s directions concerning the subject, and then by analysing the question of their practical use in 405 homilies for adults in “Biblioteka Kaznodziejska” and in 219 homilies in “Współczesna Ambona”. The choice of source material was done at random, because of the considerable time range and the great number of homilies; however, the requirements of sociological research were met.
