The empirical research was carried out among 931 students (including 47.5% girls) of the average age of 18.69 from secondary schools in the city of Kara in Togo. The research focused on the students’ specific cultural context and problems experienced at school, which may, in a synergistic effect, lead to the emergence and deepening of school discomfort. The study of school discomfort should always take into account the cultural, personal and historical context of students. This is extremely important for the validity of scientific research and its social relevance.Niniejszy artykuł koncentruje się na niektórych problemach dotyczących zachowania i postaw uczniów szkół średnich odczytywanych w świetle modelu bioekologicznego rozwoju człowieka (PPCT) Bronfenbrennera. Badania empiryczne objęły 931 uczniów (w tym 47,5% dziewcząt) w średnim wieku 18,69 lat ze szkół średnich w mieście Kara w Togo. Zainteresowania badawcze dotyczyły usytuowania ucznia w określonym kontekście kulturowym, przeżywającego swoiste problemy w doświadczeniu szkolnym, które w synergicznym oddziaływaniu na jego osobę mogą powodować powstawanie i pogłębianie się dyskomfortu szkolnego. Badanie dyskomfortu szkolnego powinno zawsze uwzględniać kontekst kulturowy, osobisty i historyczny uczniów.
