Na początku szeroko omówiona jest argumentacja dotycząca zachowania tajemnicy spowiedzi w ujęciu bł. Jana Dunsa Szkota. Na bazie uzyskanych stąd argumentów oraz tez św. Tomasza o skończoności zła i niekonieczności doskonałego poznania dla miłości autor snuje dalszą refleksję. Prowadzi ona do wniosku o fakultatywności wyznania swoich grzechów poza spowiedzią. Jednocześnie artykuł podkreśla wartość zachowania sekretu zabezpieczającego dobrą sławę osoby, konieczną dla życia w społeczności.The article takes up the problem of revealing one’s own hidden sins outside the sacramental forum in the context of love for the person in truth. First, the author provides a thorough presentation of Bl. John Duns Scotus’ reasoning concerning keeping the seal of confession. Based on arguments gained this way, as well as on the theses of St. Thomas Aquinas on the finiteness of evil and the lack of necessity of perfect cognition due to love, the author continues his reflection, leading to the conclusion that revealing one’s sins outside the sacrament of penance and reconciliation is optional.
