Their focus of interest is marital and family life; they show problem of the “average family” and the ways to solve them. The paper seeks to present the soap opera, its history, some features, and reasons for its popularity, with a particular emphasis on the problem of how this genre shows the reality of marriage and family. The study indicates the consequences that soap operas have for the image of marital and family life, for the solutions they present and promoted behaviour in human relations.
