After several short reflections on the value of peace, the author writes about the meaning of life in the thought of this great German Lutheran. He was inspired in his ecumenical activity by the attitude of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, which is not meant as an escape from external difficulties, but as a road toward the mature stature of man.
