Abstrakt
The consecrate life is a “specific form of recevign the mystery of Christ” in the Church (VC 16). It charactersitic features contain the folloiwng: regulation and spiritualization. The overall frame of the life of a person of fellowship is submitted to a close regulation by the Codes of Canon Law, Rules and Constitutions of a give institute. This regulation should be treated as a method by which to aim at the goal which is sanctification. In this sense the abiding by the law is closely linked with a tendency to the spiritualization of the person. Spiritualization, understood in an ecclesial manner, is an ever more profound incarnation of Christ in man, “Christianization” of all mankind (cf. ET 36). The man thus transformed becomes a witness of Christ in a chosen aspect of His mystery. This testimony embraces the whole person, his or her life and deeds, as it were, “shine before other people” (cf. Mt 5:16) with the Light from above which everyone carries in themselves.
