Uwarunkowania społeczne rodziny w Polsce w okresie transformacji (diagnoza)

Abstract

The article presents a diagnosis of the main social conditionings of the Polish family in the period of transformation, that is after 1989. The conditionings are analyzed in five aspects. First, the demographic situation of the Polish family is discussed, then the legalpolitical situation and one regarding the living conditions, and finally the state of relations inside the family as well as the dysfunctions and pathologies that affect it. The presented diagnosis reveals the disadvantageous situation in which the Polish family has found itself, especially in the aspect of dysfunction and pathology, as well as in the demographic and living standard aspects. However, the general conclusion presented at the end of the article, contains the statement that although the present social situation of the Polish families does not look good, one cannot say that there is a crisis of the institution of the family in the contemporary Poland, but that there are numerous challenges the family faces; it responds to them by re-organizing itself.
