Abstract

In the article we summarize the results of studies on the connections between the family and adolescent risk behaviors. The parents’ behavior is very important for adolescents. The structure of the family can also play an important role. For example, it has been proven that the fact of being grown up in an intact family can be protective against engaging in psychoactive substances abusing. The results of more specific studies suggest that parenting style and the parent - child relation correlate with adolescent health risk behaviors.
