Abstrakt
This article takes up the issue of two postures which the co-believers had adopted towards the imprisonment of Paul, the apostle. The negative one, consisting of distancing oneself from him, is represented by ‘all those, who are in Asia, and among them is Figelos and Hermogenes’ (see v. 15). The positive one was full of care for Paul, realized by Onesiphorus (see v. 16-18). The apostle of nations, by describing these two various postures, encouraged young Timothy towards perseverance and faithfulness, both in care for the deposit of faith in Ephesians Church (see 2Tim 1:13-14) and by accompanying his ‘father in faith’ (see 1Tim 1:2; 2Tim 1:2) in the last stage of his earthly life (see 2Tim 4:9.21).
