Abstract

Negative marriage or family pattems, resulting from the leaming process, lead not only to degeneration of adjustment processes but also they adversely affect the attitude of a young man towards family and marriage institutions. If an individual identifies himself with one of his parents then he follows his/her characteristic ways of reacting towards other people or specific situations. The objective of the above-mentioned research is to present the picture of father with men who applied to the Bishop Court in Przemyśl for statement of invalidity of the sacrament of marriage. The obtained results show that the men covered by the research are not able to see a greater difference between the real and ideał picture of father, as opposed to men who remain in their marriages without any problems. The results provide a basis to conduct a planned therapeutic work with men under examination aimed to change their assessment and attitude to the past and presence, which may contribute to improvement of their life in marriage and family.
