Abstrakt
The aim of this article is presentation of history of Liberal Catholic Church from the point of view of the history of religion, understood as religiology of science. Liberal Catholic Church was founded in London, England, in 1918 as a result of breaking in British Old Catholic Church. Its founders and bishops (J. I. Wedgwood, C. W. Leadbeater, I. S. Cooper, G. S. Arundale), tied it compactly with Theosophical Society. This close relationship by privileges meant also obligations and contributed to numerous controversies bounded with its own identities and became the main source of differences and partitions. Through the relationship to Theosophical Society, Liberal Catholic Church belongs to the list of precursors of New Age Movement. Liberal Catholic Church was developed mostly in Europe, U.S.A., Canada and Australia. Nowadays, this denomination does not play any significant cultural or social part.
