Abstrakt
I. Newton was convinced that his theory of life (classical mechanics) will contribute to strengthen faith in action of God in the world. Newton saw God as the masterful creator whose existence could not be denied in the face of the grandeur of all creation. Creator was most perfect Director of drama which was set in space-time stage of the universe. However his hopes were dashed as a result of oversimplifying Newton’s philosophy of nature by his followers. Epigones misinterpreted his system in the spirit of naïve materialism and determined mechanicism.
