„Słuchaj, Izraelu...” (Pwt 6, 4) – czyli słuchać, by kochać

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to give the reasons for an attitude of listening to God on the basis of the most important command “Love the Lord your God...” (Deut 6, 4). Biblical terminology connected with communication and listening is presented first. The paper then deals with the function of listening in religiousness of the faithful. An analysis of the meaning of God's calling for listening together with possible interpretations constitute the main part. The paper ends with an explanation of the meaning of the commandment of love in the context of the Bible as a whole.
