It is well known that the author of Revelation has a great appreciation for the loving relationship between a man and a woman, a relationship that consolidates and matures in time, until it results in marriage. In this article, after considering the specific terminology inherent in the dynamics of love and marriage, with particular attention to the four occurrences of the word νύ μφη (18,23; 21,2.9; 22,17), the article focuses on the section on the letters to the seven churches (1,9–3,22), showing how the warmth and the intensity of the loving relationship between Christ and the Church leads to identify the dynamics of an engagement underway.
