Abstrakt
The paper deals with a very important truth of theological unity of the three sacraments of Christian initiation. This principle is hardly observed in the contemporary pastoral practice, despite of the ancient tradition of the Church and the demands of the Vatican Council II. The proof held in this article begins with revealing theological underground of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist in order to show their complementary functions in delivering the complete effect of salvation. These three sacraments create a dynamic continuum within which God gives one a new kind of faith and new identity in Baptism, introduces by the Holy Spirit into the Mystery of Wisdom and Love of Christ and directs towards the Person of Christ Himself present in the Eucharist. Thus the eternal reality becomes available for the Church, though not yet in full dimension, but, as it is possible in the Eucharist, in pignore. For the above reasons the sacraments of initiation should be celebrated together, according to their theological premises and for the spiritual profit of the recipients.
