Pozycja 100 lat historii parafii św. Wojciecha w ElbląguHochleitner, Janusz (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2010)Several generations of inhabitants of Elbląg have been brought up in Parish of St. Wojciech. These inhabitants have been living in here within two different political and national structures. Inhabitants speaking German used to form that community for the first 40 years. However, since year 1945 this land has become "New Homeland" for settlers from different parts of pre-war Poland (II Rzeczpospolita). And after year 1989, with transformation by "Round Table", the image of our community changed a bit. Studying the history of this Parish we can see that during past 100 years our Church has integrated with the history of our Region very much. The first priesthood in Elbląg was dedicated to working class. And such peculiarity of this Parish is also established nowadays. Parish of St. Wojciech in Elbląg used to be the part of Diocese of Warmia till year 1992. In fact our Church has concentrated not only religious life but social one as well. This Parish has enabled favourable conditions for development of cultural life, sociable and even public one. But first and foremost the history presents forms of missions of priests and tries to tell us more about specific forms of bigotry in this Region.Pozycja Św. Jan Nepomucen jako katolicki bohater kulturowyHochleitner, Janusz (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2009)In ethnography some figures are defined as cultural heroes. Such a hero, in view of the features of his character, plays the role of a mediator between the sacred and the profane. For me, numerous saints of the Roman Catholic Church are such heroes. Certain saints carried in them “cultural” content, which could be well perceived by local communities. This concerns in particular the saints, who could be considered as guardians of an existential character. Peasants of many European regions found in St. John of Nepomuk an effective advocate against the dangerous element of water. This was also the case in the Prussian – Lithuanian border area, which is of particular interest to me. Historians associate the popularity of his cult as a result of the Saint’s connection with the dangerous element of water. St John of Nepomuk was first of all the patron saint against drowning, but also against ill-fated accidents. People earning their living from water had an advocate in him. An increasing number of folk art examples constituted an attempt to transfer the image of the saint from temples to the vicinity of a daily used river crossing or to a village roadside shrine. In Poland peasants believed in the saint’s guardianship over, i.a., meadows, fields and crops.Pozycja Uwarunkowania rozwojowe lokalnych grup działania w województwie warmińsko-mazurskimHochleitner, Janusz (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2011)Potential local action group (LGD) in range understood social development is enormous. Graffiti is always dependent on the time and place, as well as social and intellectual life of the era. It should therefore be seen as an important historical source. Graffiti’s life is short, hence the importance of registrating and descripting its forms so that they can be subject to interpretation in the future. The set of collected graffiti shows the selected card of Polish history with pointing specific facts that inspired the creators of inscriptions.
