Kanonizacja Jana Pawła II i Jana XXIII na znaczkach pocztowych Polski i Watykanu

Poczta Polska S.A. i Poczta Watykańska (Ufficio Filatelico e Numismatico Città del Vaticano) wydały wspólne emisje znaczków upamiętniające kanonizację papieży: Jana Pawła II i Jana XXIII, która odbyła się w Rzymie dnia 27 kwietnia 2014 roku. Watykan dnia 21 marca, a Polska 2 kwietnia 2014 roku wprowadziły do obiegu pocztowego blok zawierający dwa znaczki (w wersji polskiej po 5 zł, a w wersji watykańskiej po 1 euro), przedstawiające postaci obu nowych Świętych Papieży na tle wnętrza bazyliki Świętego Piotra. Nakłady emisji polskiej i watykańskiej wynosiły po 200 tys. sztuk. Kanonizację Jana Pawła II upamiętniają dwa bloki (wydane również wspólnie przez Polskę i Watykan) z wizerunkiem Ojca Świętego na błękitnym tle (o nominale 5 zł i 1,90 euro; wydrukowane techniką offsetu na papierze fluorescencyjnym) oraz w kolorze biało-złotawym (nominały: 8,50 zł i 2,50 euro; wykonane stalorytem). Nakłady emisji polskiej i watykańskiej wynosiły po 200 tys. sztuk. Aureolę tworzy siedem kręgów utworzonych z różnych tekstów nauczania świętego Papieża: odpowiednio w języku polskim i włoskim. Autor artykułu odczytał obie te wersje (bardzo trudne do odczytanie bez znacznego powiększenia) i zamieścił je dla PT. Czytelników. Poczty Polski i Watykanu wprowadziły ponadto do obiegu znaczek (odpowiednio o nominałach 2,35 zł i 0,85 euro) z wizerunkiem Papieża Jana Pawła II (jak na bloku). Znaczek został wydany w ozdobnym arkusiku zawierającym sześć wartości w otoczeniu przywieszek z krótkimi tekstami z papieskich przemówień; na marginesie arkusika zamieszczono fotografię figury Chrystusa z fasady bazyliki św. Piotra na Watykanie. Nakład znaczka obu poczt wynosił po 1,5 mln sztuk.

The article presents the history of two events, which took place in so called the Gravel Pit, the area located beyond German extermination camp, but adjoining to it. First, the history of so called “the Old Theatre building“, which has become the Carmelites monastery. The sisters moved out of the building after protests from some Jewish groups. The second event, occupying twice bigger part of article is devoted to the events, which were connected with placing so-called “papal cross” commemorating Pope John Paul II’s visit to the camp and celebration the mass in 1979. The presence of this cross and later putting up 152 other crosses in honor of murdered the Poles, caused consecutive protests of international Jewish society, and from the Polish side – defence of the cross. The author of this article has tried to read these issues in the light of teaching St. John Paul II about the cross, during his pilgrimages to Poland.

At the beginning of the third millennium the Church, concerned about liturgy that constantly consolidates its faith, hope and love, goes back to Pius XII’s teachings that are contained in his encyclical Mediator Dei (20 November 1947) and are still topical and significant. This concerns also the issue of participation of the faithful in the Holy Mass that is presented by the author of the present article. First, he shows, following the teaching of the encyclical, the nature of the Eucharist Offering that was established by Jesus Christ, the High Priest, and revived in the Church by His priests because He willed it. The bloody offering made once on the Cross is in a bloodless way repeated in the Holy Offering of the Altar. The Eucharist Offering has today the same, or “identical” goals, as Christ’s Offering of the Cross had, that is giving proper glory to the Father in Heaven, thanksgiving due to God, compensation, begging and request for blessing and grace. Through His death on the Cross Jesus Christ gave the immeasurable treasure of Redemption to His Church. Each man is invited to participate in this redemption. The Offering of the Altar gives all the faithful a share in the good that comes from the Savior’s Cross. The faithful, reborn by the water from the Holy Baptism and included in the universal priesthood, have the “supreme” duty and privilege of participation in the Eucharistic Offering. Christ’s Bloodless Offering, that happens through the prayers and ritual of the Holy Mass, is the work of the priest, as Christ’s substitute. The faithful take part in making the Offering through the priest’s hands and together with the priest; they also should offer themselves to Father in Heaven. In his encyclical Pius XII calls those who give the faithful the Roman Missal in order to facilitate their participation in the Holy Mass and to secure salutary fruit for them “praiseworthy” Mediator Dei also praises all those who after taking the Holy Communion and after the end of the Holy Mass give thanks and remain “some time” in the communion of prayer with the Divine Savior.
