The aim of the article is to present the meaning of axiological and moral education in the process of building social order in the so-called post-modern era. The need to maintain social order and moral culture is an essential condition of social life, since it is intrinsically encoded into a human being’s nature. The disconcerting tendencies to undermine the foundations of this order, which appear as axiological and moral weakening, prompt its protection, through teaching values which build this order and ensure its stability, predictability and continuity. These values include: religion, taboos, dialogue, community, collective memories. Therefore, if we wish to live in a truly human world, we need to defend and protect these values in particular.

The purpose of this article is to present the research problem related with conducting a critical analysis of two polemical writings authored by the leading representatives of the Catholic-Orthodox religious polemics who lived on the Ruthenian lands of the First Republic of Poland. The works will include: Perspektywa (1642) by Kasjan Sakowicz and Lithos (1644) by Piotr Mohyła. The project, which is also aimed at later publication of the above texts provided with a commentary, will play a significant role in the development of knowledge about literary culture created both by the followers of the Catholic Church and by writers originating from the sphere of Eastern Christianity in the first half of the seventeenth century.

Komunikacja międzykonfesyjna w świetle „Mowy duchownej…” (1645) Piotra Mohyły

The concept of confessional communication contained in Mohyła’s “Speech ...” was built on the Neoplatonic – gradualist concept of the world. It is possible that this resulted in a vision of Christianity’s unity. Although admittedly broken up into individual and, at the same time, antagonized and seemingly unconnected Churches, Christianity, in fact, forms an ontological unity consistent with the transcendent, gradualist order sustained by God. Marriage appeared to Mohyle as an opportunity to reconcile the differences of confession and as a special manifestation of the ontological harmony between God and people. “Speech ...” provides evidence that the disintegration of religious unity in the Ruthenian lands of the Republic was accompanied by attempts at their integration. It was a process defining the evangelical-Orthodox communication of cultures.

Artykuł omawia działalność edukacyjną prowadzoną przez prawosławne bractwa we Lwowie w drugiej połowie XVI i XVII wieku. Podstawą analizy są prace wybranych polskich historyków. Zwrócono uwagę na podręczniki historii chrześcijaństwa w Polsce oraz prace monograficzne poświęcone szczegółowym problemom związanym z dziejami Kościoła prawosławnego na ziemiach ruskich państwa polsko-litewskiego w XVI i XVII wieku. Poddano analizie również artykuły, w których pojawia się problem działalności edukacyjnej bractwa lwowskiego.
