Ideologia gender w świetle ekologii integralnej papieża Franciszka

This paper offers a critical analysis of gender ideology from the perspective of Pope Francis’ “integral ecology” presented in his Encyclical Letter Laudato sì. The article begins with the fundamental claims of gender ideology and goes on to reveal their links with the causes of the current ecological and social crisis. The paper also demonstrates connections between the ideology of gender, feminism and sexual minority groups, which tend to promote a new perception of femininity and masculinity. From the perspective of integral ecology, those trends pose a serious threat to the quality of interpersonal relations and to entire communities.

Artykuł podejmuje analizę moralnych aspektów homoseksualizmu w świetle posoborowego nauczania Kościoła katolickiego. Refleksja składa się z dwóch części. Pierwsza nawiązuje do zasadniczych tez antropologii biblijnej, będącej fundamentem katolickiej etyki seksualnej. Teologia stworzenia ukazana w Księdze Rodzaju stanowi dla chrześcijan podstawę do adekwatnego zrozumienia problemów związanych z homoseksualizmem. Dołącza do niej refleksja rozumowa, analizująca cielesno-duchową naturę osoby ludzkiej, będącą źródłem praw i obowiązków wyrażonych w prawie naturalnym. Idąc tym tropem, druga część artykułu koncentruje się na moralnej ocenie homoseksualizmu i formułuje wynikające z tej oceny implikacje dla wspólnoty kościelnej i społeczeństwa. W świetle orędzia biblijnego i nauki Kościoła zjawisko homoseksualizmu jawi się jako przeżywanie ludzkiej seksualności wbrew mądrości i miłości Stwórcy. W ocenie moralnej istotne jest jednak rozróżnienie pomiędzy homoseksualną skłonnością a czynami. Szanując godność każdej osoby, Kościół podkreśla, że żadna skłonność nie determinuje bezwzględnie ludzkich wyborów moralnych. Dlatego zachęca osoby o skłonnościach homoseksualnych, aby w przyjaźni z Chrystusem podjęły drogę pełnienia woli Bożej we wspólnocie wiary.

In recent times the public opinion has been shocked by the news of the sexual abuse of children and adolescents. Abuse towards young people is a grave symptom of the moral crisis in the modern society. This is a deep-seated crisis of sexual morality and of human relationships, the prime victims of which are children and young people. The article presents definitions, principal causes and moral aspects of child sexual abuse. Only a careful examination of the causes and many other elements responsible for and conducive to the present crisis can help find effective and appropriate measures to prevent children from falling victim to similar crimes in the future.

The teachings of the last Vatican Council clearly stressed the importance of having a right conscience in shaping community life. People’s conscience affects not only their personal choices, but also contributes to forming the social ethos of their communities through conscientious engagement in various aspects of public life. An important form of public involvement is the work of parliamentary members in law making. While considering the activities of Catholic MPs, we frequently ask whether they ought to be guided by their conscience in the process of making civil law. Should they be guided by those values which they share as believers in Christ? Or perhaps should they yield to a kind of schizophrenia and use their conscience in private lives only, while adopting other criteria during legislative procedures? This article aims to answer this and other similar questions. If members of parliament really wish to conscientiously serve their voters, they should not promote those bills which stand in sharp contrast to reason and human dignity. This – a responsible task for lawmakers – should constantly be filled with a moral imperative in their conscience shaped by such criteria of good that truly serve the integral development of individuals and entire communities.

On June 8, 2018, the 379th plenary meeting of the Polish Bishops’ Conference in Janów Podlaski adopted the Pastoral Guidelines for the Exhortation “Amoris laetitia”. Having been drafted for a long period, the document underwent editorial changes and finally found approval. As is usually the case with significant moral and pastoral issues, the text attracted conflicting opinions. The progressive circles considered the document as highly conservative, while the conservatives pointed to a number of imprecise statements that could open up the possibility of liberal interpretation. The Polish bishops emphasize the need to serve the engaged, spouses and families as well as people living in irregular relationships according to the pastoral criteria proposed by Pope Francis: acceptance, accompaniment, discernment and integration. A reading of the document demonstrates that the Polish hierarchs have managed to find a balance between compassion and adherence to the Church’s traditional doctrine.

The article concerns the activity of voluntary care service of the Florentine Archconfraternity of Mercy (Venerabile Arciconfraternita della Misericordia di Firenze). This charitable organization has been helping people with various needs for over 775 years. For centuries, its special mission has been to care for the sick and to provide medical transport. Currently, the Archconfraternity has adjusted its offer to the needs of the time, directing its attention to people of senior age. The first dimension of activity in this sector are visits and support offered to lonely people in their own homes. The second dimension of assistance is the offer of two specialized retirement homes, which offer seniors a wide range of activities and social security.
