Edith Stein – “Great Daughter of Israel and Carmel”, Searching for the Truth Every Day

Edith Stein was born in a traditional religious Jewish family. In her youth, she stopped praying and lost her faith in God. She was, however, very faithful in searching for the truth, which had become her life’s passion. First, the article presents various definitions of truth. Then it deals with phenomenological methods of discovering the truth about man, which were characteristic of Edith Stein. Finally, it shows her discovery of the God of Love, who pulled her towards mystical union in the spirituality of Carmel. St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein) died in the concentration camp at Auschwitz experiencing the mystery of the Cross of Christ and sacrificing herself for her nation.
Naturalne planowanie rodziny wewnętrznym aspektem odpowiedzialnego rodzicielstwa

Artykuł traktuje o pryncypialnym aspekcie odpowiedzialnego rodzicielstwa, za który uznaje się podjęcie w dialogu małżeńskim i konsekwentną realizację w postawach rodzicielskich decyzji o wyborze naturalnego planowania rodziny jako metody regulacji poczęć. Analiza problemu badawczego została rozłożona na cztery etapy. Najpierw przedstawiono podstawy teologiczne, biblijne i antropologiczne odpowiedzialnego rodzicielstwa. Na drugim etapie ukazano wielorakie konteksty decyzji rodzicielskiej z perspektywy uwarunkowań dialogu małżeńskiego. W dalszej części przedłożono walory teologiczne, etyczne i psychologiczne metod naturalnego planowania rodziny. Finalnie podjęto próbę sprecyzowania istoty decyzji rodzicielskiej, która implikuje stosowanie przez małżonków naturalnych metod regulacji poczęć. Kluczem hermeneutycznym, spinającym całość analiz teologicznych pracy, stała się kategoria daru osobowego małżonków. W kontekście sformułowanych wniosków ukazano etyczny, antropologiczny, teologiczny, charyzmatyczny i kultyczno-liturgiczny wymiar decyzji rodzicielskiej określającej strategię planowania rodziny przez małżonków.

Family and marriage counseling is extremely important. It is necessary. On the one hand, it is to help people who are preparing to enter into the sacrament of marriage, but on the other hand it is to help married couples experiencing various crises. The quality of future marriage and family life depends on this preparation for the sacrament of marriage. In addition, accompanying spouses in a variety of difficult times is extremely important for the quality of their life together. In the era of the depreciation of the sacrament of marriage, pro-divorce mentality, the issue seems to be very important and therefore counseling and competent people are needed.
Światło słowa Bożego dla chrześcijańskich małżonków w nauczaniu moralnym encykliki Humanae Vitae

Artykuł ukazuje wskazania moralne dla chrześcijańskich małżonków na podstawie światła słowa Bożego zawartego w pięciu punktach encykliki Pawła VI Humanae vitae. Pośród tych wskazań znajduje się zachęta do podjęcia trudu wierności nauczaniu Kościoła. Tekst ukazuje realizm przemijania świata doczesnego z jednoczesnym wskazaniem na rzeczywistość nadprzyrodzoną. Narzędziem będącym pomocą w rozwoju duchowym i trwaniu przy wskazaniach moralnych Kościoła jest modlitwa. Autorzy zwracają również uwagę na konieczność zaangażowania kapłanów w proces duchowego towarzyszenia małżonkom w ich drodze ku pełni rozwoju.
The Theological Foundations of Matylda Getter’s (1870–1968) Humanitarian Activities in the Face of Life-Threatening Situations

The article aims to present the theological foundations of the life and activities of Mother Matylda Getter, a Franciscan sister of the Family of Mary, superior of the Warsaw province, engaged throughout her life in the care, upbringing, and education of abandoned children and orphans, and then cooperating particularly sacrificially during the German occupation in saving endangered Jewish children. The authors of the article posed the question of the reasons for the unusual attitude of Mother Getter, who, as a distinguished long-term superior of a religious province, was not required to take such risky actions during the war. The following analysis shows that this was possible because of a deep commitment to a personal relationship with the Master of Nazareth and openness to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, as well as the long-standing cooperation of many people adhering to a shared spirituality and monastic rule.

The starting point for the analysis of this article are sociological and psychological studies on late maturity of a man living today. This point of view was used to further research on the issue of human functioning in the autumn of life. First, an attempt was made to define the concept of “aging process” and to present various types of human attitudes towards the phenomenon of aging. Then the analysis was conducted on the role of family in the lives of older people and attempts were made to answer the question posed in the title of the article. It turned out that for the elderly the family isthe most important reference plane. It guarantees acceptance, safety and care. Thisis where you can most effectively solve various human problems inherent in the people in the autumn of life. Man should develop on all levels of his personality throughout his life so also in the period of the late maturity. So that this development could reach the level of well-being, a person should have a clearly defined purpose and meaning of life. Theological anthropology reveals the truth about man and God – the Absolute Person who is the ultimate goal. The realization of this objective made authentically, on the level of personal dialogue leads man to the fullness of life.
