Pozycja Mozarabowie a iberyjskie doświadczenie granicznościRoszak, Piotr (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Uniwersytetu Papieskiego Jana Pawła II, 2014)Mozarabs who defended their Christian identity in exceptional circumstances, historical and cultural after 711 (the year of Arab invasion to the Iberian Peninsula) may become an interesting contribution to the contemporary debate on multiculturalism and its weaknesses. In many of the euchological texts the Spanish liturgy an excellent picture of the struggle for identity. The author of the article analyzed one of the Hispanic mass called Pro tribulatis emphasizes the need to care for own consciousness. Intersubjectivity making by the liturgy understood as an exchange, commercium, and reliance on tradition understood as a creative continuation, transfer, became the foundation of attitudes of mozarabic Christians. Based on the background of historical reflection, the article intend to rethink the difficulties observed in contemporary Spain, influenced by the “new secularism”. Model of multiculturalism, is for many thinkers no longer sufficient and requires a strong correction.Pozycja „Secretum meum mihi”. Przyczynek do teologii mysterium u św. Tomasza z AkwinuRoszak, Piotr (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Uniwersytetu Papieskiego Jana Pawła II w Krakowie, 2009)In the theology of Aquinas the concept of mystery has twofold function. First, in the epistemological sense, it consists in the conviction that our knowledge is limited. The characteristic obumbratio and the adequate way to know the mystery is through analogy. In this sense of mystery, faith and reason join in harmony, because ratio is always the norm of mysterium. On the other hand, in the theological sense, mystery for St. Thomas is the eternal plan of salvation which is revealed to all the people in Christ. He, as a Wisdom of God, reveals the secrets hidden from the creation of the world. Aquinas introduces two other terms which are linked to mystery: secretum which reveals total dependence on the will of God and sacramentum which express the permanent presence of the mystery in the history of the Church. The central point in this plan of salvation belongs to Christ, but to understand his person and his work, faith in the Trinity is necessary. That is why, Thomas develops the Trinitarian Christology and proposes the Unitarian vision of theology that permits to contemplate the presence of God in the history o f salvation. The Angelic Doctor expresses a special type of exegesis which proposes: to cultivate a theology secundum mysterium. Aquinas affirms the existence of only one mystery – the mystery of Christ – and it has three components: that the Son of God assumed our body, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and change the world through the grace of Holy Spirit (S. Th., II–II, q. 2, a.8c). The mystery of Christ has his prolongation in the Church which is contemplated by Saint Thomas as the “presence of mystery” in the world. For this reason, the Christian vocation for Aquinas is to be participes mysteriorum Christ”.Pozycja Uczyć się od najlepszych. Tomasz z Akwinu i teologiczny dialogRoszak, Piotr (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Uniwersytetu Papieskiego Jana Pawła II w Krakowie, 2011)The article presents the dialogic aspect of Aquinas’s theology in their dual dimension: on the one hand, revealing Thomas as creatively uses a variety of theological sources, as the receptor of wide spectrum of his contemporary thinkers, both Christian and Jewish as Muslim; on the other hand, his theology is marked by disputatio and a model of “thinking in opposition” characteristic of his vision of sacra doctrina conscious that “all truth, by whom ever it is spoken, comes from the Holy Spirit”, as he wrote in Summa Theologica. Aquinas effectively extract the most important message from the works of Aristotle, Augustine, Pseudo-Dionysius, Seneca and use all this auctoritasvn the special «apostolate of the intellect». Thomas teaches the “how” to think. Based theology on aristotelian concept of theoria is not “to beton” the truth, but it clearly shows that theology as a “rational reflection of the faith” leads to a kind of dialogue with reality. Among the works written by him, we meet not only those who want to “consolidate” the faith, but also have a significant apologetic’s dimension. Thomas wants to demostrate the credibility of Christianity as a rational option, which corresponds to the dignity of man and fully develop his capabilities. Theology becomes in this way “thinking faith” which is a participation in God’s knowledge about himself. Therefore, in the article special emphasis put on De rationibusfldei, one of the intriguing works of Aquinas which presents Christianity as a attractive and reasonable proposal for a man, distinguished by the trinitarian horizon of his thinking.Pozycja Via Christi Est Virgo Beata. Elementy mariologii św. Tomasza z AkwinuMróz, Mirosław; Roszak, Piotr (Towarzystwo Naukowe KUL, 2011)St. Thomas Aquinas’s mariology is art of the considerations on Christ and His salvific mission. It constitutes, as it were, a natural introduction into the explanation of the mystery how the Son of God entered the world. Aquinas sees the mystery of the Mother of God in the context of Jesus Christ’s mission. Thus St. Thomas Aquinas’s Mariology is, as it were, a part of Christology. The relationship between Mary and Jesus is a key to understand His role in the history of salvation. In the teaching on Mary and Her role in the history of salvation, Aquinas emphasises several important elements. They are the following: 1. The true nature of Mary’s divine motherhood (Theotokos). Mary is the true Mother of God because She is the Mother of the Person of the Son of God; 2. The special dimension of Her vocation that She carries out by Her priviege to be the „Mediatrix of graces”, and that in turn determines Her special role in the history of salvation; 3. The Trinitary dimension of Mary’s mission. Mary collaborates (conducts a dialogue) with the Holy Trinity as it is best shown in the scene of the Annunciation, Cana of Galilee, Pentecost; 4. the holiness of Mary is understood by Aquinas as Her special (subjective) freedom from sin; 5. Mary’s mediation which – according to St. Thomas – is a mediation of mercy, for it expresses Her concern and care for the good of others. This does not collide with the redemptive mediation of Jesus Christ, but accompanies it.Pozycja La vida del embrión según santo Tomas de AquinoRoszak, Piotr (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Uniwersytetu Papieskiego Jana Pawła II, 2013)It is very popular among scholars to reduce the question of medieval embryology only to so called "delayed animation", with a little reference to important philosophical background of the topic. This article present the concept of "life" in the perspective of thomistic doctrine, especially putting the emphasis on the issue of the soul as the principle of life and what does the virtus generativa means for Aquinas. He exposes in six stage of embryogenesis, which we can discover in his writings, the identity of the embryo in all process of his development. The changes of substantial forms, from vegetative one to human’s form, is contemplated by Aquinas in logical, not chronological order. That’s why for saint Thomas the abortion is considerate always as heavy moral offense contra naturam. For the integral understanding of Thomas’s view on the status of human embryo is important to take account of christological themes.
