In order to define how John Paul II approached to the issue of the spirituality of communion in his apostolic Letter “Novo millennio ineunte” the author has shown first the circumstances in which the Pope-Pole turned to the faithful. He called them to propagate it. Then the author seeks to show what this spirituality, its essence, meant for the Holy Father. In the course of further research activities the author defined the goal for John Paul II's popularisation of the spirituality of communion. Then he characterised the manner in which the Pope made real in the faithful this spirituality and the appropriate means through which to shape it in oneself and in others.

When the priest adopts a proper attitude towards the Eucharist, he can meet and be united with the giver of all good, peace and the source of true joy, reach perfection which is given to man by God. In order to remind priests of the need to make this attitude perfect, the author showed first the essence of the Eucharist, then the role which it plays in the spiritual life of the priest. Eventually, he pointed out – on the basis of John Paul II’s teaching – that it is necessary to satisfy an extremely important condition to fruitfully live through the Eucharistie mystery. This condition is to shape the attitude towards Eucharistie Jesus in the school of Mary and the saints.

The author of the article tries to show that the Apostolic letters Tertio millennio adveniente and Novo millennio ineunte are a special expression of John Paul II’s involvement in promoting sainthood. First he examined the circumstances and the aim of proclaiming the above mentioned apostolic letters by the Holy Father, and then the Polish Pope’s reasons for expounding the teaching on sainthood. He also characterized the main motifs in this teaching. Finally he concluded that the results of the study clearly show that John Paul II was a great promoter of the idea of sainthood, and the analyzed documents may be considered a particular expression of the Pope’s involvement in the work of promoting the Church’s teaching on sainthood and of making it more profound.

The author has analysed the writings of St. Vincent Pallotti (1795-1850) in order to study the role which Divine Mercy played in Pallotti’s spiritual life, the founder of the Association of Catholic Apostleship and precursor of Catholic Action. The study has shown that the knowledge of Divine Mercy, which St. Vincent Pallotti acquired, had played an enormous role in his spiritual life. Therefore he fully deserves to be called a great worshipper and ardent participant in the work of Divine Mercy, and also a prominent master of spiritual mercy. His message proclaimed in the words and examples of his life entirely confirms the opinion popular among theologians, i.e. that mercy is an essential element of Christian spirituality.

The author of this paper entitled „The Message of Divine Mercy Entrusted to St. Faustina as the Source of Hope for the Contemporary World” have characterised contemporary threats present now in the world. This characterisation has been based on the teaching of two popes, John Paul II and Benedict XVI. Then he determined the principal elements of the message of Divine Mercy, and, eventually, on the basis of St. Faustina’s Diary, he characterised the benefits that flow to us when once we receive Divine Mercy through Jesus Christ. When we put, side by side, the fruits of this reception and the threats to the contemporary world, we can clearly see that the message of Divine Mercy may become a source of hope for those who are open to it.

The author of the article shows that challenging the new God’s People to participate in the work of evangelization that is called “new” is still topical, because of the intensification of old threats and appearance of new ones, to which the evangelization was supposed to be a response. It is also current in the light of John Paul II’s teaching preached after the year 2000 and Benedict XVI’s teaching, especially the teaching contained in his first two encyclicals. Paragraph I of the article talks about the origin, need and significant assumptions of the new evangelization. In the next one the topicality is demonstrated of the challenge directed to the faithful to put it into effect, and in the last one tasks are listed that those who work on the new evangelization face after the Church entered the third millennium. The author pays close attention to the fact that the necessity to intensify one’s spiritual life is their essential task, as it is a special condition of efficiency of the work of the new evangelization.
