Apophatic and Mystical Realism. Nicholas’ of Cusa Lesson
Sikora, Piotr (The Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow, 2016)
In my paper I consider the question, whether one can reconcile radical apophatic perspective with the realistic interpretation of religious discourse. Both are supported by very important religious intuitions, but seem to be mutually inconsistent. In order to show what form of “apophatic realism” is possible to hold, I analyze the thought of Nicolas of Cusa: fifteenth century mystic and philosopher, whose thought does justice to the deepest religious intuitions and can be inspiring, and – in its basic principles – also tenable, even in XXI century.

Aż Chrystus się w was ukształtuje
Sikora, Piotr (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2004)
In my paper, I examine rev. Stanislaw Wronka's interpretation of the New Testament teaching concerning identification of a Christian with Christ. Wronka argues that according to the NT every Christian can (and ought to) become very similar to Christ, but that some difference in nature between them will remain for ever. I propose a thesis that – in eschatological perspective – identification of a Christian with Christ is total, i.e., that according to the NT (especially St John and St Paul) the ultimate destination of the human being is not only to be like Christ, but to become the very Christ.

Przebóstwienie człowieka, Chalcedon i chrystologia dwustopniowa
Sikora, Piotr (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2003)
The paper presents a link between the notion of deification of human nature and the mystery of resurrection, which allows us to show how deeply the first idea is rooted in the Bible. It is spoken of each time our participation in the Resurrection of Christ is mentioned. This approach reconciles the incarnation soteriology – traditionally associated with the idea of θεοσις – and paschal soteriology. Thus, new interpretative perspectives of both models of Christ's redemptive act are opened. This, however, is a subject for a separate article.
